Político británico. Tercer hijo del 7
o duque de Marlborough, se incorporó a la Cámara de los Comunes en 1874. A principios de la década de 1880 se unió a otros conservadores en la fundación del Cuarto Partido, que defendió una "democracia tory de conservadurismo progresista. En 1886, a la edad de 37 años, se convirtió en líder de la Cámara de los Comunes y cancilller del Exchequer (ministro de hacienda), pero renunció después del rechazo de su primer presupuesto. Aunque parecía destinado a ser primer ministro, este mal cálculo puso fin efectivo a su carrera política. Continuó en la Cámara de los Comunes hasta su muerte, pero perdió interés en la política, y dedicó gran parte de su tiempo a las carreras de caballos. Fue padre de
Winston Churchill.
